Florida is a Closed Primary State
According to Florida law, Florida is a Closed Primary State, meaning only voters registered with a political party can vote in that party's primary elections. However, all registered voters, regardless of party affiliation, may vote on issues and nonpartisan contests.
Universal Primary
If all candidates in a primary race have the same party affiliation and the winner will have no opposition in the General Election, all qualified electors, regardless of party affiliation, may vote in the Primary Election for that contest.
